Sonia Treseder

Psychologist

Sonia is registered as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Sonia sees clients presenting with Depression, Anxiety, Relationships, Self-Esteem, Life Patterns, Trauma, Grief and Loss.

Sonia is committed to understanding her clients issues and providing appropriate treatments that are backed by thorough research.

Her clients are mostly people who manage from day to day but find they experience difficulties that prevent them from getting the most out of life. Their problems may be either brief reactions to difficult situations or long-standing patterns of emotions and behaviours. They may be people who suffer symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Sonia has more than 20 years experience counselling individuals and couples.

Location: RelateWell Centre (Coburg) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Sonia is no longer taking on new clients.


Ruth Willcox

Psychologist

Ruth is registered as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She has been registered since 2001.

Ruth is registered to provide Therapeutic Supports - Mental Health Services for the organisation under the NDIS. 

Location: RelateWell Centre (Coburg) on Mondays and Fridays. 


Carolyn Thompson

Carolyn is registered as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).  

Carolyn has a keen interest in mental health issues relating to pregnancy and early parenthood, adult trauma, and individual and family work. She utilises a number of evidenced-based therapeutic techniques including but not limited to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Person-Centred Solution-Focused Therapies and Mindfulness. Carolyn is dedicated to working collaboratively to assist her clients to develop healthy perceptions, strengthen relationships and improving well-being.

Carolyn’s professional background includes twenty plus years working as an Integrated Family Services Worker, and Generalist Counselling. She also assisted in the development and service delivery of the Enhanced Maternity Care Program in a regional hospital.

Locations: Brunswick West Maternal & Child Health Centre (Brunswick West) on Tuesdays and RelateWell Centre (Coburg) on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 


Provisional Psychologists

Thanh Lee

Thanh is a registered provisional psychologist (Registration number: PSY0001959830) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society. She is currently completing a Psychology Board approved sixth year internship program (under the clinical supervision of Anita Carroll, Registration number: PSY0001121577) following successful completion of a five-year sequence of psychological studies.

Thanh has worked with adolescents and their families in assessing and treating a broad range of presenting problems such as grief and loss, anxiety and depression, trauma, stress, school transitions, interpersonal conflict, anger and disruptive behaviours. She has also provided crisis support telephone counselling with Lifeline and conducted home-visits and peer support for women with perinatal anxiety and depression with PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia).

Thanh believes in empowering individuals to reach their true potential by using a strengths-based approach. She uses a combination of evidence-based therapies that are best suited to each individual’s needs and presenting problems, these include, but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and has an interest in using Mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy techniques. Thanh draws on attachment theory and psychodynamic approaches to better understand individuals, couples and family relationships.

Thanh has a strong interest in prevention and early intervention, immigrant parenting and perinatal mental health.

Locations:  Springvale Service for Children (Springvale) on Wednesdays and Fridays.


Robert Thomson

Robert is registered as a Provisional Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is completing a Master of Professional Psychology through Cairnmillar Institute. 

Robert sees adult and child clients and is committed to assist each with their individual issues, including depression, anxiety, relationships and trauma, using appropriate evidence-based treatments.

Locations: Belle Vue Park Primary School & Maternal & Child Health Centre (Glenroy) on Tuesdays and RelateWell Centre (Coburg) on Thursdays.


Psychotherapy & Counselling

Madeleine Anbar

Madeleine has graduated with a Masters of Counselling from Monash University and is a member of the Australian Counselling Association.

Madeleine has experience working with individuals, couples and families in a wide range of areas, including anxiety, depression, anger-management, self-esteem, stress management and interpersonal issues.

Madeleine particularly enjoys working with clients in the perinatal space and has a strong focus on the importance of the development and maintenance of healthy relationships between couples and families. 

Locations: RelateWell Centre (Coburg), Springvale Service for Children (Springvale); Brunswick West Maternal & Child Health Centre; and Belle Vue Park Primary School and Maternal & Child Health Centre.   


Anne Litchfield 

Anne is currently completing her Master of Counselling at Monash University. She is passionate about perinatal mental health and family relationships, and utilises a range of strategies to provide personalised support for her clients.

Location: Pascoe Vale Community Centre (Pascoe Vale) on Fridays. 


 Colleen Reilly

Colleen Reilly is a Counsellor and Psychotherapist. She completed her Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Cairnmillar Institute and her Couple and Relationship Studies and Internship at Relationships Australia.

Colleen specialises in working with couple and relationship issues, and also has extensive experience in anxiety and panic disorders; loss and grief; low self-esteem; mild to moderate depression; stress management, and finding purpose and meaning in life. 

Colleen is a trained Emotion Focused Therapist, but depending on the needs of her clients draws from skills-based approaches such as Mindfulness and CBT. She often provides useful practical reading material to broaden the understanding of specific issues for her clients.

Her focus is on being fully present with you, in an empathetic, calming and non-judgmental space.

Colleen is passionate about her work with people and is delighted to be a team member at RelateWell.

Colleen Reilly is registered to accept referrals for Therapeutic Supports under the NDIS at Coburg and Springvale Service for Children

Colleen is a facilitator of relationship courses at RelateWell.
